Red Bull is the only sponsor that has been with Stylewars from day 1 and it was literally from day 1. Stylewars was first thought up whilst on a freestyle sled trip with Jay Quinlan (Red Bull team rider) in Falls Creek back in 2003. A few beers with Luke Hannan (top dawg in Red Bull Marketing Australia) and the idea turned into a must do. And 3 weeks later Stylewars was born with Red Bull there as the main funding sponsor. No matter what stupid out there idea I have thrown at Red Bull for Stylewars they have been down with supporting and making happen in a good way.

Falls Creek is the home of good snowboarding competitions in Australia. In all honesty the rest of the resorts in OZ try really hard but always miss by a mile. Huge money goes into dangerous set ups with short landings and 4 hit pipes. Falls Creek have had a great philosophy with Stylewars. Let the riders and the professional international park builders do the thinking for them and learn from the people who live the sport. End result has been a bunch of great comps with huge media attention and lots of happy riders. The resort is small and simple but compact can be more fun when it has what you need in it and it does. The park crew live to ride and when the snow is perfect (as it is this year 2008) there is loads to ride and actually some pretty fun freeriding to be had. Without Falls Creek (and a guy named Francis Jackson who has worked with me on Stylewars from concept to now) Stylewars would never had been possible in OZ as the event is privately rider owned and run and without a company like Burton funding an event they just can't happen without the support of the resort.
