After three gruelling marathon days of jumping wombat holes and freestyle antics standing sideways on snow… it is over.
Torstein catapulted himself today from 6th position after day 2 to the number one spot. He was helped with serious weighting from the ‘rider vote’, which boosted him easily to the title of 2007 ‘Grandmaster’.

Day two at Stylewars, Falls Creek Australia had just finished. It had been a heavy hitting day from 10-4 and people had been throwing down all day. Bodies were tired, beers were calling but 5 grand was sitting there waiting at the 28 stairs rail comp.
Wet boots were pulled back on, things twisted up and the night rail jam was about to rock the main bowl of Falls Creek Village.

After two days of riding the huge kicker at the Stylewars event, shred hungry competitors seemed a little wary of the implications of hitting the big jump.
Andy Finch (USA) had been taken down on the first day of practice and Quentin Robbins (NZ) went down yesterday during the first day of competition. Perfect blue-sky day and a world-class snowboard park at Falls Creek Australia for the first day of Stylewars 2007.
The park set up included a perfectly groomed monster step down jump (120 foot to the knuckle), a huge spine, a rail line and a three (3) hit mellow kicker line.
Today’s morning two-hour jam session was on the kicker line and riders nominated their judged runs at will, which allowed for a fun easy session.

The park crew put the finishing touches on this bad bay at about midday today... it was just that the fairly lengthy in run still consisted mainly of a mogul field. Andy Finch didn't rate this as much of a problem and proceeded to hit it several times with varying degrees of success. After a serious late night mission and a large contingent of the Falls Creek park crew the rail setup for the 28 Steps presented by Volvo is starting to take shape.
